Wine Country Harvest Festival in North East, PA

Fall festivities are starting up here fast in Erie and one of the first ones is the Wine Country Harvest Festival. This festival began as a small street festival in 1981 and is now a regional event. Although it is not directly in Erie, it takes place in two different parks in North East, PA. The first park is Gibson Park and the other is Gravel Pit Park which are around 30 minutes from Erie, and are five minutes from each other.

Attendees at the festival can find wine sampling, food, listen to bands, try grape stomping, and walk through arts and crafts exhibitors. Each park has fifteen food stands which vary from funnel cakes and salt water taffy to pasta bread bowls and pulled pork to tacos and empanadas.

The 37th Annual WineFest runs from September 28 through the 30th. There are four available ticket options ranging from a general admission to a weekend pass. General Admission tickets are available in advance for $6 or $8 at the gate. The Friday/Sunday Tasting Pass costs $20 in advance or $25 at the gate and the Saturday Tasting Pass available for $25 in advance and $30 at the gate, these tickets include unlimited wine sampling from 100 wines, festival admission, and a commemorative wine glass (while supplies last). The third ticket is the Wine Tasting Weekend Passes which are only sold in advance online or at the Chamber office for $50. These get you into the festival all three days and include, festival admission, wine samples and a commemorative wine glass (while supplies last). To buy a Wine Tasting Pass you must be 21 years old, but General Admission is available for everyone.
