Do You Like My Thai?

During the week I had a few of my friends tell me they went to Like My Thai after I told them about my first blog on the restaurant. I decided to ask them some questions about what they thought of the food, the service, and the atmosphere.

As for the service they both agreed that they were greeted with personable, friendly, and accommodating staff. George, a sophomore forensics major at Mercyhurst University, said that the owner was very outgoing while making their food. When I interviewed Mike, the owner, I also thought he was outgoing and very charismatic when he answered my questions and made the customers feel comfortable.

Their atmosphere was minimalistic and not as cozy as Savannah, a sophomore graphic design major also at Mercyhurst, would have preferred, but she did enjoy that it was casual. I could understand what she was saying as the setup inside is more functional than for style, but it is good for a laid back lunch or dinner with friends. George liked that you are able to watch them cook your food at the counter, and were able to have a conversation with the owner.

The menu has a variety of items for those who want to try something new and those who want something not too bold. With the menu being pretty big, they both had a hard time trying to decide between two or three menu items. Something that they both liked on the menu is the customizable heat level, which helped because George likes more spice than Savannah. The both of them said they would definitely order the same thing the next time they go.

Portions and the prices can be a struggle when you pay a lot and do not get that big of a meal. At Like My Thai, George said that the price of one meal was more than enough to bring home and have the next day.

The overall experience was good as they spent an hour and a half there, eating and enjoying the company of other customers and Mercyhurst students. Both George and Savannah are planning on returning for a good meal for a great price, and I hope to join them next time!
