Contemporary Latin and Asian Restaurant in Erie -- 1201 Kitchen

In Erie, the variety of restaurants gives locals, visiting friends, and visitors a choice in where they want to go, be casual or maybe something fancier, and what kind of food they want to eat. For most, going out to eat, you usually end up picking out a place that is on the casual side unless its for a special occasion. For others maybe they have a place that they really like and do not want to stray far from that in the fear that they may be disappointed. On the contrast, some people really like to explore new things and maybe try something that they have never had before.

Many of the local restaurants that I have interviewed, talked about, and reviewed have been found in downtown Erie with a few being around ten minutes from the city. Likewise, 1201 Kitchen is among the many in the downtown area.

Locally owned and operated, the restaurant has a small staff that is "striving to make every day an amazing experience." 1201 Kitchen is run by Dan Kern and J.B. Innes which they both purchased together as partners in 2007.

Every four to six they change their dinner, raw bar, and sushi menus change as a way of showcasing "the exceptional products of the present." 1201 Kitchen is contemporary Latin and Asian, and their menu has items that are experimental and different. Currently the highest priced menu item is $49 and is the wagyu which comes with shiitake mushrooms, wasabi, and Japanese peppercorn sauce. They have a range of fish, meat and some vegetarian options which can meet many people's standards for picking a restaurant to eat at.

For me, the menu is a little too fancy for me, or maybe I am just too picky for it, but for people who are big fans of fish then this could be a very good option. Having the wide variety of fish and range of new and different options for people who are looking for something unique can really draw customers in. Whether it be for a business meeting or a night out with friends, then 1201 Kitchen can suit you.
