The Draft Room in Buffalo, NY

Over Thanksgiving break, I was able to go back home to spend time with friends in family. All of my days I had something planned which ended up with not much resting time at all, which is fine by me since I like to keep moving. While I was home, I was able to go to two Buffalo Sabres' games with my dad which were a great time especially with our team doing very well so far. After one of the games we walked right across the street from the arena to a new restaurant and bar that just opened up in Buffalo's Cobblestone District.

The brand new restaurant and bar, The Draft Room and the Labatt Brew House, was opened to the public November 17, 2018 by Pegula Sports and Entertainment which is the company that owns the sports teams in Buffalo. Inside the brew house, there are tours and tastings available while at The Draft Room it is more of a bar with some food where you and your friends could hang out for awhile.

When my dad and I went it was about an hour after the game had ended and we just missed waiting in a very long and cold line outside with people trying to get in. Thankfully, we were able to walk right inside and as soon as we got in, it was super loud and crowded with Buffalo fans. After, the great game it was no surprise that the fans would want to keep the great night going especially with a new bar opening.

As we made our way to my dad's friends, we had to squeeze our way through the people but eventually made it to our group. When I was walking I really wanted to look at the details of the place, and there were many interesting ones. For example, the floors are still the original cobblestone of what used to be in the building, and there is even an old weight machine that was used.

We stood by one of the bars in the building with our friends and chatted about the game, the new restaurant, and how school was going. The liveliness never calmed down which was fun for everyone and made everyone want to stay longer. The people sitting at the table behind us order plenty of appetizers to share and every single thing looked and smelled amazing.

They have a lunch menu and a dinner menu which have an array of items, from shareable snacks to individual small meals. Your typical bar food is on the menu along with other options that make it seem like you're not at a bar.

The atmosphere, the company, the food, and the drinks all combine for a great time in downtown Buffalo.
